160 km to the north of Nairobi, at an altitude of 1750 metres, is the Lake Nakuru National Park.

Depending on the season, up to a million pink flamingos gather at the lake, creating a scene of immense beauty.

As well as the 450 types of bird, the park is home to around fifty species of mammal: buffalo, hippopotamuses, warthogs, zebras.

Lions, leopards and rhinos have been reintroduced there.
